GamEffective raises $7m to rethink enterprise gamification
Israeli enterprise gamification software provider GamEffective has successfully closed a $7 million (£5.2m) funding round, aiming to use the capital to develop its sales, marketing, and research efforts.
The company, based in North Carolina and Ra’anana, Israel, provides software for mobile, desktop, and TV which integrates with traditional enterprise applications and focuses on “basic human motivations and the intrinsic drive to do well,” according to a company video. The firm counts customers including PayPal, eBay, and Microsoft.
“By focusing on employees’ individualised goals and illustrating how they can be accomplished through eLearning and other activities, GamEffective’s platform provides real-time, dynamic performance management far more effective than offline performance management tools whose goals remain stale and static,” said Gal Rimon, GamEffective CEO in a statement.
“Much like people use fitness trackers to supercharge their wellness, our platform does the same for success in the workplace,” he added.
The funding round was led by Jerusalem Venture Partners (JVP), with contributions from Verint, 2B Angels, Shaked Ventures, Lipman, and CE Ventures among others. “GamEffective is changing the way the workplace is managed and the interplay between the company and its employees,” said JVP managing partner Raffi Kesten. “The company’s performance over the past year has been extremely impressive, as global enterprises begin to understand the need for next-gen, sophisticated, human capital management solutions.”
GamEffective was named as a ‘cool vendor’ in human capital management by Gartner earlier this year, along with analytics-based HR tech startup EdGE Networks, employee survey and performance review provider Kanjoya, and Pathgather, an enterprise learning platform provider.
