Channel 5 set to launch Big Brother app

Channel 5 has announced it is to launch a Big Brother app so fans can access their favourite housemate info, games and live coverage via their iPhones, iPads and Android devices.

The reality show, which was bought by Five last year after ten years of success on Channel 4, kicks off with ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ on Thursday 18 August with the apps’ launch set to coincide with the first broadcast, pending approval from Apple.

Apple tops the paid-for apps battle

Apple is still taking the lion’s share of the paid-for Apps market leaving Google’s Android floundering in the water, according to a report by top UK app design firm, Nice Agency.

The iphone currently remains the market leader in terms of the amount of paid apps on offer - almost three times more than Android currently offers.

Google Chairman ‘Not Too Worried’ About Apple Lawsuits Over Android

Android now seeing 550,000 activations every day

You read that right. Today, during Google’s second-quarter earnings call, CEO Larry Page announced that some 550,000 devices are being activated every day.

That’s about 382 devices being activated every minute, or 3.85 million every week.

That’s a lot of devices.

Put it into perspective: On June 28, Android’s Andy Rubin tweeted that a half-million devices were being activated daily....

Impressions from the Droidcon 2011

As every year, the Droidcon 2011 was held in our capitol city of Berlin. Thus Ricky, Tobias and Andre of our team took off from Bremen to visit.

The Urania, a well-known theater, was the location of this year's conference which was a nice contrast to last years location which was far from the center of Berlin.
