Salesforce.com announces AppExchange hits 2m installs

Salesforce.com announced late last night that its AppExchange marketplace has surpassed two million app installs.

The AppExchange, which delivers enterprise software across a wide range of verticals, took six years to hit its first million installs, with only two years elapsing for the second million.

The news highlights the significant growth in companies adopting enterprise apps, and in particular enterprise app stores.

BMC acquires Partnerpedia for enterprise app store potential

Enterprise app store provider Partnerpedia has been snapped up by BMC Software, with the business service management provider introducing BMC AppZone, a repackaged, revamped iteration of Partnerpedia’s Universal App Store.

Antenna Software research shows rise and rise of enterprise app store

Antenna Software’s second Mobile Business Forecast shows that one in three enterprises now have their own app store; research which indicates the “maturity of mobile applications in the enterprise”, according to Antenna chief marketing and strategy officer Jim Somers.
