BYOX “blip on the radar” for companies while mobile security remains on the backburner

A survey of 300 IT professionals in the US from network provider Spiceworks has found that despite the huge prevalence of BYOD in the workplace, bring your own everything (BYOX) is not getting traction.

The report, which was sponsored by Samsung, also found fewer than half of respondents are using mobile device management (MDM) or anti-virus software – and given almost 90% of survey respondents said their employees were bringing their own devices to work, it’s a worry...

In the wake of enterprise mobility management (EMM) vendor BoxTone’s announcement on July 17 that it will be charging $0.99 per device per month for its mobile device management (MDM) module, it appears that the still-immature MDM market is heading towards commoditisation.
