Pirates, prepare to be boarded by US entertainment malware

In the constant battle between illegal file sharers (pirates) and the entertainment industry supplying the protected digital materials, the pirates have been staying one step ahead – although the industry may soon have a powerful new weapon in their arsenal.



New regulations being pushed by the “Commission on the Theft of American Intellectual Property” could mean the industry could lawfully distribute malware to illegal file sharers.

Salesforce.com announces enterprise app innovation challenge

Cloud giant Salesforce.com has announced the €5 million Innovation Challenge, offering a chance for innovative start-ups to build successful enterprise apps on the Salesforce platform.

The challenge, which launches today, will allow prospective companies to pitch their ideas to venture capitalists at a series of events throughout Europe between September and November.

Four in five enterprises will deploy custom apps [infographic]

New research from Zenprise has revealed, among other insights, that the majority of enterprises will deploy custom mobile apps in the next 12 months.

The Zenprise report, which spoke to 501 IT professionals, showed some interesting insights into mobile initiatives – the big takeaway being that 81% of enterprises plan to deploy custom enterprise mobile apps and that three quarters plan to initiate mobile line-of-business apps in the next 12 months.

CIOs struggling to keep on budget with enterprise app projects

The majority of IT company CIOs are struggling with budgeting for enterprise app testing, according to the latest survey from agile data management provider Delphix.

IAB: mCommerce happens inside stores

A new study from the Interactive Advertising Bureau highlights the strong use of mobile by consumers while they are inside a retail store: 73% of respondents state they have used their mobile in store.
