AgreeYa Mobility launches enterprise mobility platform Onvelop #MWC2013

California-based mobile engineering product provider AgreeYa Mobility has today launched Onvelop, a cross-platform interoperable enterprise mobility tool which synchronises with SharePoint, Lync, and Office365.

Launched on the second day of Mobile World Congress, the product is unique in that it is the only product on the market which Microsoft has enabled to license its tools. Onvelop also has partnerships with Samsung and Vodafone.

With a strategy aimed primarily at CIOs, users can access enterprise software, maintaining security without needing extra mobile device management (MDM) software.

Onvelop utilises calendar synchronisation, peer-to-peer document review alongside audio conferencing and collaboration tools for both tablets and mobile devices. Video conferencing is expected to become a feature by April.

The system aims to provide enterprise-grade security, allow the freedoms of BYOD whilst not requiring a major overhaul of company systems by moving to the cloud.

AgreeYa Mobility CEO Krish Kupathil said in a prepared statement: “Today’s companies spend exorbitant amounts of time, money and resources on the software and infrastructure that help employees work and collaborate efficiently and effectively.

“But until now, those employees were handcuffed to computers and unable to access those tools on their mobile devices.”

The product is an ideal fit for both larger enterprises and SMEs, according to Kupathil, although the majority of SME customers the company has goes through partners.

“It is perfectly acceptable for both,” he told Enterprise AppsTech. “The enterprises have an on-premise installation of SharePoint, and in the meantime the big guys have had SharePoint for the last eight years.”

The solution promotes BYOD harmony, although not in collaboration with MDM. “We strongly believe that BYOD and MDM do not go hand in hand,” said Ankush Tiwari, AgreeYa VP engineering, adding that MDM will continue to have its own space – most notably in the banking sector.

Kupathil also revealed that BlackBerry compatibility will be on the cards for Onvelop so long as the strong predictions concerning BB10 come off. in hearing industry leaders discuss subjects like this and sharing their use-cases?
