Kony and Cognizant partner up for enterprise mobile apps
Mobile app development provider Kony and IT infrastructure provider Cognizant have announced a partnership to deliver a suite of new cross-platform mobile applications to enhance business process efficiencies.
The two companies will be looking towards various industry verticals, including banking, government, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. Cognizant will also be offering Digital Fabric, a mobile middleware service based on Kony’s MobileFabric, to customers. Kony’s app design capabilities will also be incorporated into Cognizant’s Digital Collaboratory centre.
“The world is mobile. Serving today’s customers means connecting with them anytime they want and anywhere they are,” said Sean Middleton, chief operating officer of the Emerging Business Accelerator at Cognizant, adding: “As a result we’ve seen an explosion of emerging end points and apps to engage, capture information, and support decision-making. This trend lies at the heart of digital transformation.”
“What makes this partnership so powerful is the unique and complementary fit of our respective assets and capabilities,” said Thomas E. Hogan, Kony CEO. “Most importantly, our combined strengths will bring industry-leading innovation and value to our clients, which is the ultimate barometer of success.”
Kony’s name will be one familiar to regular readers of this publication, having been named in the leaders’ section for the third year running in Gartner’s mobile app development platform (MADP) Magic Quadrant. In June, the company released survey data in conjunction with 451 Research which showed IT currently does the majority of mobile app development, although this is expected to change in the coming two years, from business app vendors, to developer partners, and system integrators.
