RingCentral aims to ‘reimagine communications and collaboration’ with new unified mobile app
At its annual user conference, titled ‘ConnectCentral’, RingCentral – a US-based provider of cloud-based communications and collaboration solutions for businesses – announced the availability of the new RingCentral unified mobile app, which aims to be an entirely reimagined collaboration-centric experience for enterprise communications.
The RingCentral unified mobile app provides a modern conversational workspace allowing people to communicate the way they want using the devices of their choice. The RingCentral unified mobile app offers voice, team messaging, video meetings, and other key features into a single user experience instead of using multiple applications. The app, which is designed to be used for all internal and external communications needs, is built on three principles: collaboration-centric, enterprise voice ready, and integrated video meetings.
One company which is benefiting from this approach is construction and engineering firm Structural Group. Jason Kasch, CIO at Structural Group, said: “At Structural Group, we rely on mobile collaboration to help our highly-skilled team of world-class engineers and field construction workers achieve the best possible results. The new RingCentral unified mobile App enables us to put people at the centre of our business. It is now easy and efficient for our entire workforce to communicate and collaborate all with a few clicks.”
Back in March, a study by Synergy Research states that the growth of unified communications as a service (UCaaS) is now consistent at 300,000 seats per quarter with Mitel and RingCentral at the top. It says that there is plenty more growth where that came from.
The research defines UCaaS as ‘a communications service where service providers host and develop their own proprietary cloud PBX platform, enabling PSTN (public switched telephone network) connectivity and offering an integrated UC applications portfolio stack.’ In Q4/2017, Mitel overtook RingCentral in terms of new subscribers, with the Ottawa-based provider the first company to break 100,000 subscriptions in any quarter.
