No-code mobile integration vendor Appdome has launched Zero Management Mobility – a service which aims to move further towards a touchless cybersecurity future.
The solution secures enterprise mobile apps in bring your own device (BYOD) environments without the use of management profiles on employee devices. The offering ‘provides customers unique combinations of Appdome security’, from encryption to obfuscation, alongside SDK services such as VPN access and single sign-on.
There are two other key benefits of the zero management product, as Appdome puts it, alongside the security element; building and securing enterprise apps with developer trust and deploying enterprise apps via public app stores. Apps under Zero Management Mobility can be deployed in various ways, whether it is through the public app store, private distribution or on an invitation basis.
Regular readers of this publication will note the various ways the security landscape is changing, moving away from passwords to a more Zero Trust element. Writing for sister publication CloudTech in March, Louis Columbus noted the need for Zero Trust security vendors to be demystified, to save the obfuscation.
“Zero Trust is having an energising effect on the security landscape as it provides vendors with a strategic framework they can differentiate themselves in,” wrote Columbus. “Security vendors are capitalising on the market value right now, with product management and engineering teams working overtime to get new applications and platforms ready for market.”
From Zero Trust to Zero Management – it is a similar idea, as in the same way that enterprise mobility management (EMM) is moving towards unified endpoint management (UEM). Appdome’s role is to sit astride these EMM and UEM players, with support for Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, BlackBerry, IBM MaaS360 and MobileIron.
“Enterprises need to deploy mobile apps to all employees versus a select few MDM or EMM users,” said Tom Tovar, Appdome CEO and co-creator in a statement. “With Zero Management Mobility, enterprises are empowered to deliver secure mobile apps in ways mobile users are accustomed and without management profiles.”
